The "point of beginning" is a surveyor's mark at the starting location for the wide-scale surveying of land. In this sculpture, the intricately intertwined driftwood splits from the central fork and travels a circuitous route before returning to its own organic Point of Beginning.

This floor-standing sculpture stands more than 6 feet high. Each driftwood segment is intricately burnished to showcase the underlying beauty of the wood's natural color and grain. The lines and shadows undulate as the viewer shifts perspective, eventually returning to their own Point of Beginning.
